Thanks! Glad to hear you got into short course, My wife went to UW Madison and I've had the chance to see the ag part of the campus. I even went to their farm outside of Madison. I think you'll enjoy it! Good luck down there...As for the cold, can't wait to get rid of it. They call this the 'slow' season in Wisconsin farming. But everyone pretty busy keeping everything running properly. I'm not much of a winter person. It looks like we'll get a bit of a break from the cold!

P.S. I wrote this about a week and a half ago...but somehow sent it to myself and not to you! LOL!

Wow, sorry I haven't replied in over a month! I just haven't checked back, and for some reason, my regular email account didn't notify me which it usually does...The Madison course is a good one, I know a few guys from my area who have gone and liked it. One of them went back for a second year of classes. My dad went there too (about 45 years ago though)! Yes, that is my wife in the photo, we got married just over four months ago, but we've been together for about 8 years. Shes an accountant, and she doesn't want to farm herself, but is supportive of my desire to farm. As a plus, shes willing to do the account books and taxes!

Haha, yeah, I spent some of it on the wife. I've been in and out of school a few times since graduating from high school. I've got a few months left before graduating with an associates degree in architecture from NWTC. I also have a years worth of classes taken from FVTC's Farm Operations program, which I would like to also finish.

have you ever been to the farm toy show before? I saw something posted on another site about it, but we're too busy to get away for that long right now.

As far as I know, its the same golf course. Not sure if any of the original buildings are still there, never been there myself. As for my future, I plan on dairying again in the near future, but not sure when. 3-5 years maybe/hopefully. I'd like to pay off all my debt at minimun. I've bought too many things with that plastic money! lol

I'll have to look into that website. That's a pretty big dream but I have to agree it would be awesome to have cows at Expo! I went in 2008 for the 4-h conference and it was AMAZING! lol have u been there before?

Hey, I come from a small farm where I raised dairy goats and I worked on a dairy farm throughout high school. I love judging and showing cattle and I take it you do to?

Yeah, my family has a dairy history...my dad grew up on a farm in Luxemburg, which is now thw golf course. He bought a farm in Suring, which he operated for 38 years. Now the land is being rented and I live in Pulaski, going to classes at NWTC, and kicking myself every day for letting the herd go. I'm pretty frustrated with my life right now, and this economy sure as hell don't help!...
