Farmers || Future

Where do I start? What do I plant? Where do I buy a few acres to start? Do I need good credit to start farming?

These question at this time seems to vague but my intention are clear. To be a farmer by any means necessary.

I live in the San Antonio, Tx area.

I plan on building new solar panals for my farm and other who are interested in obtaining.

I plan on herding goats and planting herbs and spices.

Goats are so great! We love ours. the initial outlay for fencing is especially high. We have a source for whole corn and wheat that you may have it is at our local elevators rail road. if you have a rail nearby the grain cars spill some grain wile they sit to be loaded. If you are there and get permission, you can scoop up the grain for free. It is not a lot but enough to feed some goats and chickens. Chickens are an easy way to start too. you do not have to have fancy chicken feed. if you can get scraps from a local school or restaurant and start a compost system the chickens will eat some scraps and stir the compost. Its that easy to have a product to sell, you just have to get the cycle started. Chickens are cheep and easy place to start!

Hey if farmings what you want to do then do it. Start with the plan you have and put all effort into paying down your debt. If you want to get in on an increasing scale I believe you'll eventually have to talk to the bankers. BE CAREFUL IT'S LIKE PLAYING WITH SNAKES!!! If you get behind they will be the ones telling what to plant and who to deal with. In short you'll loose your indpendence. So just stay ahead of the game and you'll be alright. Also if you get in on row crop production subscribe to a good marketing service. I'd suggest Al Kluis he helped me dig out of a big hole last year. Roger if farmings what's makes you happy then do it and the money will follow!

Yeh, so for I think with my Credit debt, that will stop me from acheiving my goal of being a Farmer and inventor, etc.. etc.

But , I'm not discouraged whatever God will be done.

Not to get all religous.

Thank you much for the comment.

You don't need any credit to start farming and the sooner farmers get off their addiction to credit, the more profitable they are going to be. Pay yourself, not the money-lenders. If you can't afford it, don't buy it...borrow, share or find the same thing used for less money.
