Farmers || Future

Whenever we get a new Successful Farming magazine in the mail, I check in the FFtheF section to see what's off the Network.

My husband, Terry always asks me when I check it what I've been whining about lately... LOL This issue was no different. I checked the quotes and I wasn't quoted. "Nothing." I said and made a face at him. THEN I looked at the article. Ohhhh... "Uh, I guess I am in here!" I said and handed him the magazine laughing. He is still going into the full time farming cautiously just because most of our land is rented and the terms are still shakey.

Anyway, it was a slightly comical moment at Hollman Farms and I thought I'd share it with you.

Mr. Caldwell, keep up the good work. I love your FFtheF site and the members here are so friendly and helpful!

Great comments, Rick. I appreciate it. I'd like to hear more of your point of view. What can we, at SF, do to help more folks get into the cow/calf business? What types of specific information would be most useful?

This Month's issue of SF is what prompted me to get on this site. I have had cattle since 1979 but have never farmed full time. I will be starting next September.I have always had a cow calf operation.It has worked well with my job.I am very impressed and enthused at the number of young farmers getting started.
