Start Farming.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I had recently graduated from a 4 year college with a BA in Political Science, and working in retail as a manager. Now here is my issue, since my freshman year of college, I have to wanted to farm and do something with agriculture. I want to start farming and I am having a hard time telling my mother, bc she would be disappointed in my decsion after attending four year college. This should not be a shocker to her bc I grew up on a farm and my brother own a farm and I spend alot of time on his farm. Now, my mom wants me to keep my job bc is good paying and I hate it with a passion...What should I do or how can I tell my mom what I really want to do..

No matter what, you will need to tell her. Is she going to be upset because you "wasted" 4 years of your life, or because she paid for it? If she paid, then you might consider repaying the loan so she doesn't feel like her money was just thrown away.

A lot of people have been successful farming around there full time job. I suppose it really depends on how big how fast you want to get.

Save the money while you can, even at the cost of dreading going to work. You will need the cash as you start buying land and equipment and livestock.

Remember, in the end, only you can watch out for you. It might be a little different if there were a wife and kids in the picture urging you not to farm.

And who knows - she just might surprise you and be very supportive from the get-go.

Save your money, work hard, hang out at your brothers place and help him, maybe your mom will get the message.

save up some money work were you are at for a little bit of time then start buying stuff to start farming and as far as your mom do what dale said be a man
