It's fall harvest tour week for us here at Agriculture.com. We've got a cool new wrinkle this year. A group of ag reporters from Brazil are here this week to visit some farms and get a sense of how harvest is going. It's going to be fun -- the week's tour is actually starting off today down at the CBOT floor in Chicago, then moving through Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Missouri in the next 5 days.
A couple of big thanks ahead of time: We're visiting
Rachel and Nathan Fishback's farm, as well as
Erin Capps' family farm in Washington and Hedrick, Iowa, later in the week. Thanks to you guys for letting us come and bug you during this time of year. I always feel bad trying to stop farmers from working during the busiest time of the year, but you all have already been so gracious and welcoming. It will be a lot of fun.
We're going to be out on behalf of our Agriculture.com
Crop Tech Tour project. For you smartphone junkies out there, I'm going to try using my Blackberry as much as I can in doing my reporting. Ought to be an interesting learning experience!
So, we'll be out grabbing photos, videos and stories out around the countryside in the next few days. I'm really excited. If we can keep the rains away, it's always my favorite time of year to get out and about!
Want to chip in? add your harvest photos, videos and information here. We'd love to see how harvest is going for you!
Thanks again in advance to the Fishback and Capps families for hosting us this week!
Hope everybody's having a great harvest so far! Stay safe out there!
