Friday-Feb. 19th
Well, I was sicker than a dog on Thursday. Today I am feeling better. Aunt and little cousin Cami coming home today. I got to hold and cuttle the little bundle of joy for a while this afternoon. Other than having an upset moment, followed by a feeding and diaper change, she was a sleeping angel the rest of the time.
Saturday-Feb. 20th
Let's just say I was sick this entire stinking weekend and didn't do a whole lot of anything.
Monday-Feb. 22nd
Well, we moved our steer feed order back a day and started the '97 Ford turbo at 2:45. Made it to Flagler by 4 with my lead foot, and it took even about the same time to get back. We of course spent an hour talking about farming while waiting on the feed to be mixed and loaded. Booked it for Calhan and made it there early for judging practice. Nailed my heifer set, and screwed up my hog set. Oh well, there's next week.
Tuesday-Feb. 23rd
4-H meeting for Horse Advisory Council. I managed to stay awake through the whole thing.
Wednesday-Feb. 24th
Really nice day out. I'm feeling well and got in a little time with my steer calves. The push is on to have them ready for the county prospect show in two weeks. I also went to my orthodontist appointment. My teeth are doing well, I got a rigid night time retainer to go with my clear one for day time, and I got some good and bad news. Good news, my teeth are sitting in my mouth darn near perfect. However, the same x-ray reminds me I also have four wisdom teeth that need to be pulled. They are in a good position to get out and we're gonna do them ASAP before I have to start another season of competitive judging. Yee haw. :(
Thursday-Feb. 24th
School built up from being sick earlier in the week. So, I am hammering that out. I have a research paper assignment, and am trying to figure out a topic. Raising seed corn maybe? Huh, good idea. Livestock quiz bowl starts tonight. Yet another competition that requires you to speak. Better get this sore mouth business out of the way.
