Saturday 23rd – I went to the farm to help dad do chores. The weather is warm and the snow is melting causing a muddy mess everywhere. It warmed up enough that dad was able to scrape the concrete in front of the bunks which helped tremendously in the lot. While he moved mud and manure I feed the cows, calves, and bulls. Before I went home, dad and I put a door on the crib back on track and adjusted the height accordingly. I went home, got cleaned up, and Melis, Marcus and I headed toward Council Bluffs. We stopped at No Frills and Sears on our way to Melis’s sister Melanie and Scott B. I bought a Panasonic surround sound stereo and Blue Ray player. I had a bunch of gift cards to Sears and they were having close-out sales because all the new systems start coming in February. I bought the last one they had in the store. I figured I can’t have a new TV without Blue Ray and surround sound. It is probably a little overkill and not needed, but oh well.
We had a great dinner at the Babcock’s and played cards after we ate. Melvin and Myrna rode home with Melis and I. It was a late night and we didn’t get in until 1.
Sunday 24th – I woke up and immediately went to work on my stereo. I got it all hooked up and helped Melis get ready for lunch. We had Mom, Dad, Em, Matt, and Shayna over for lunch. We visited and the family took off around 3 pm. It was great having my whole side of the family together. We need to do it more often. I was able to get my HD service for the new TV. The picture is awesome. Melis and I went to Chris and Michelle’s to watch the Vikings game. Would have liked to see them beat the Saints but we are set up for a great Super Bowl game. It started snowing on our way to their house and was still snowing on our way home. It was very windy and began to drift……have I mentioned I am sick of winter?
