So we attempted to venture into the fine feathered world of farm fowl. Our first batch, though purchased from a reputable supplier, ended up pretty much being a bust. True, we did get about 30 or so lbs of chicken out of it, but our hens that we have left haven't begun laying yet. I know it's suppose to take up to a year, but I'm slightly impatient. I hate useless animals.

The duck thing is working out relatively ok. I went out to the coop today and one of the ducks had a bloody eye, so now they're staying in a seperate area. I'm keeping an eye on those hens, since we've began to introduce another batch of chicks (probably around two months old or so). I know Nature has a pecking order, but not at my expense. :)

The garden is half planted. I'm hoping maybe we can actually have more than some cucumbers and tomatoes this year. Still need to plant corn, but I figure I can wait a little bit since the weather doesn't want to sit still right now. Overall, I'm very hopeful.
