we plow about half of our corn acres and 1/3 of our wheat acres in West Central MN west of Alexandria. Corn on corn is a must in the 2 counties that I farm in.

I am in South Central MN near Mankato. We started plowing again 4 years ago on our corn on corn acres and it definitely pays for itself on corn on corn. There are people that claim it is better for soybeans too we have one field that was plowed and we put beans on it so we will see what kind of difference it makes.

Plowings not common in Northern California. We usually chisel and disc.

Out here in SW KS it is pretty much forbidden, however our neighbor pulled his plow out last fall, and the field was right behind the FSA office. Seeing that he didn't get in trouble we plowed a field of corn under. Mainly due to the rancher who grazed the stalks stuck 7 bulls out on a 50 acre field. Needless to say the grazing job was worthless. You can sure tell the height difference of plowed vs non-plowed. Guess we'll see when we're able to harvest it just how much better it may be.
