Hi, my name is Tiffany! I am the herdsman for our family farm, that milks around 200. I am in the process of taking over parts of the farm from my father. My younger brother and I plan to fully take over and grow the operation.

This is a news article from The Baltimore Sun!! I found it quite interesting!! I think we all should give this a try, any input is very welcome!!!

BRUSSELS (AP) — Belgian farmers sprayed 3 million liters (790,000 gallons) of fresh milk onto their fields Wednesday, furious over the low milk prices they say are bankrupting farmers.

Milk farmers' groups said world prices had sunk so much they are having to sell milk at half their production costs, leaving more and more farmers unable to pay their… Continue

Tiffany,
We have a litter of six females and four male pups. I see you're a dairy farmer. I know two of our dogs have ended up on dairies and are doing quite well. You can learn more about our Aussies at putzlivestock.com. Waiting for pup pics to be posted. Have a great week, hope to hear from you! B

ya i'm lucky to work on the best herd in the county!! yea but your herd is good, it still has room for improvement. but i like projects to lol. i'm sure you know but its a lot of little things that you can change that will improve your herd in big ways. one thing that has worked good for me and the farm i work on now is to ship all of the cronic, low producers, high scc, and ones that have disease. then breed the good cows with good bulls so you build that dream genetics in that herd. thats number one!!! our average is up to 76 to 80 lbs per cow/day. ya thats sort of the way it is here to. but ya but other wise hows life in general going?

ya we had to do some tile lines to this year!! i can't wait to look i'll take a look at the pics in the morn i got to get some sleep. lol thats good about the groups its amazing what little changes can do to the milk production. we are milking 79 cows now and we are producing over 12,000 lbs every other day the cows are not even at peak yet lol. i want to be milking more cows but we don't have enough land to feed the cows and its a land grab out here. we could not even get one more acre of land lol.

Hay already i wish we were doing hay its my favorite thing to do on the farm. i bet you will be busy how many acres of hay do you got? hey by the way i like the new pics you got up!!!
