About me

Agriculture has been a part of my life since I was born.

I grew up on a Tobacco farm in Kentucky and my grandfather and his two brothers farmed together and had corn, wheat, soybeans, tobacco, alfalfa, corn silage and had a dairy.

Later on my father added more an more acreage to his farm and started farming corn, wheat and soybeans as well and my dad no longer grows tobacco. That is now left to my brother-in-law, they raise about 55 acres.

My husband and I both have Ag Degrees from Murray State University. He has always focused on the equipment side of the industry working for Case IH and Kubota and currenlty works for a Cat dealer. I was an agronomy major and went to work for an Ag Chemical company out of college where I was a sales rep and then later worked in the home office. I then came back to Kentucky and ran a Soil Analysis Lab for a number of years and now actually work as a Recruiter for the Ag Industry.

Although we don't get to live on the farm, we do go to my family's farm on the weekends and help out when we can and it's still a large part of who we are and hopefully one day, we can farm as well.

Latest Activity

Looks good! Glad to be of help and add some pictures. Thankfully KY's harvest is coming on along fairly well now. Our early beans are harvested, corn should wrap up in another week for us and then onto double crop beans.

we had almost the exact situation about 4 days ago... just be thankful it was that side or else you might be buying a whole new ladder and platform

Rhonda,
You work for Ag Source? I talked to somebody there about my new job in KY. Been in Owensboro about 2 months now. Still looking for a good pizza place.

ha! I was wondering if that was the bunch you were kin to just based on your profile! Sharon dated my best friend's dad for years... she's my insurance agent and she's an absolute nut! I love her to death.

I've seen Sonny out there at russellville crop service. you're right, that is the only bunch of Caughlin's I've ever heard of, and can't really say I know any of them.

I worked for Southern States when I was in high school, right when Russellville bought Elkton's store. after college, I came back and worked at Security Seed temporarily. that was where I met John, as he and Gary liked to loaf up there when things were slow.

do you work for miles?

haha! what are their names? I'm a lifelong Logan Countian and spent a lot of time running around in Todd Co. I only live a couple miles from the county line on Highland Lick Road.
