Where's this corn market going?

We're headed for another bullish USDA Report next week. Soybeans are already in a rally mode. Will a tight stocks report fire up a corn market rally next week? How's your marketing plan looking, as you head into the field in a few days? Thanks for sharing,MikeSee More

Soybean prices struggle, corn holds the fence shut

Posted on April 20, 2009 at 2:03pm 0 Comments

Sorry gang, I haven't been on here for awhile. I thought I would bring you up to speed on what's going on down here on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade. On Monday, corn ended lower but not as low as the soybean market. And traders had a lot to say about what's going on. See my short report at http://is.gd/tr85

Hi Mike.  Have you been listening about fertilizers price?  what people or industries have commenting about Fertilizers  future prices ? Does fertilizers i'll continue raising? .

Regards.

Well, as you heard,  fertilizers are getting increase on demand and prices. Map for example, costing about U$ 830,00 cif . the fertilizers increse sometimes  means no more area or more farmers, because our soil is poor for some nutrients, so, when a farmer get a money or have a good harvest, they invest in fertilizer improving their nutrients level. and  as matter of fact, it will be increase in corn areas because the  last high prices . And about safrinha, there is no doubt about a drop of safrinha .  it havent been rain here  a long time excet in Parana that it must to rain this week. Besides , Brazilian farmers need to do " rotação " i want to mean to change soybean to corn improving their soils.

Mike, are you on Twitter? I follow several grain marketers on there and get their tweets directly on my phone. If you are I would like to "follow" you. (I know, sounds like a stalker) but I have found that to be very helpful when it comes to hearing what is happening before most websites pick it up.

YEA THEM BEARCATS ARE PRETTY GOOD I JUST WISH THEY COULD WIN THE BIG ONE. I GUESS THEIR IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR. I SUBSCRIBE TO ROACH AG THEIR SAYING IF YOU DON'T NEED TO SELL ANYTHING DON'T BE IN ANY HURRY THEY THINK HIGHER PRICES ARE COMING THIS SPRING, BASED ON WEAHTER, CORN AND BEANS FIGHTING FOR ACRES. DO YOU THINK; THAT IS WHEN WE ARE GOING TO SEE THE HIGHS IN THIS MARKET. I WOULD THINK CORN IS GOING TO STRUGGLE UNLESS CRUDE COMES BACK AND FOR THAT TO HAPPEN I THINK THIS ECONOMY HAS TO GET SOME FEET UNDER IT.

any idea about the markets here lately, what's been the main driver of these markets and do you think their going to keep plunging higher for a while or is the bottom going to fall out of this thing. Really don't understand where the upside pressure is coming from, don't really know whether to dump the corn i have left over or keep it.

Any idea's on how inputs are going to go? With the markets still on a slight down hill we have been waiting for inputs to follow and they have but not as much as we have hoped. Now we have been told about a change to buy NH3 for 690 a ton. I am starting to think that it is or is close to bottom so we are gonna buy about 1/3 of what we will need tomorrow. We are still sitting on all of our winter wheat and our sunflowers. Not sure what to do, gonna try and do as you said and hold off till the march area time frame.

Ok so I am very new to the whole marketing thing, my father is not a strong believer since he lived through the 70's and 80's and saw many of his neighbors go under due to being in the wrong side of the market. He has made a good living by watching treands and selling cash However I still feel like I am missing opportunities that others cash in on. I am trying to learn, any advise for good info/helping someone learn to market?
