If all they have is bineweed then they arent much of an organic farmer. Organic farmers are required to have management practices. Following these practices would require them to get rid of the WEEDS and do something about invasives. I don't know ...

About Me

Just a small start up organic farm living on 37 acres. Into being more self sustainable. Has chickens and wants goats one day for dairy purposes. Looking at getting bees also. Member of local beekeeping club and webmaster.

Would like to have a CSA Community Supported Agriculture farm where people would buy shares.

Single and looking for like minded people who are into the organic side of things. Not into large scale commercial farming, spraying, or genetically modified foods.

You can visit my website at www.copefarms.com
COPE Farms stands for Caretakers Of Planet Earth

Thanks Mike :)

Michael check this out.....
Hello Patricia I have to tell you (I am not that computer savvy but this amazed me). I got my 'Animal Health Technician' and 'Equine Science Specialist' Certificates in June. I was wondering what I could do with these since my job of delivering concrete has really died. I was reminded I could look it up on the computer well long story short under the 'EquineScienceSpecialistCerticiate' I found our conversation about our fathers, that we had here on this site. Wow how did that happen? Along with Michael Rutherford and Jim Snyder. It is crazy1 An excerpt from this site!

Hi Michael Glad to see another farmer close to home...thanks for the positive comments...you're not very far away...we go thru Fort Valley on the way to Barnesville for the auction every once in a while...trying to stay as natural as possible....but just learning as we go along...neither of us come from recent farmers...would like to keep in contact...

Hi Michael! Good to see another Georgian here! There's a wonderful diversity of experience and interest on this site, and I'm sure you'll find many like-minded farmers. I'm interested in keeping chickens and goats soon, too, but haven't worked that into my farming yet. Right now it's primarily market-gardening and a small CSA.

Hi, Michael: Welcome to the Farmers for the Future network. There is a fair amount of strong rhetoric at times related to organic and conventional agriculture discussion. Most of the time, though, I think you'll find people sharing good ideas on both sides of that fence. Look forward to hearing more from you. - John Walter, Successful Farming/Agriculture Online
