I currently work on a large dairy outside of Bellevue, IA. Which I truly enjoy. I work part time currently and hoping to go full time soon. I have to get rid of my city job! On the farm, I take care of young stock and other chores, and don't have to do milkings, since we have other people to do that. But I have to clean the free stalls and put sand in the barn when needed. So, thats a little about what I do. If you want to know anything else, just ask I will let you know anything...

What to do??

Posted on December 6, 2010 at 12:45pm 2 Comments

I think I maybe sort of in a pickle. I really want to get started farming again, but I also have a high paying job in town, which I enjoy. I would like to gradually get into farming. I want to start slow buy some crop ground and raise cattle and then when I am ready bring in the cows and go all the way.. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this started.. I been looking at information, but not sure what way to go.

thanks for your help

I graduated from college two years ago, and got a city job, which I like some days, but hate most. I would rather be right back on the farm. Every chance I get to go back to our family farm, I go for it and love every minute and don't want to leave. Right now I am setting money aside for I can purcahse a farm and get…
