Johnson Farms

Hey there, i'm Kyle and i live on a 1500 ac. farm in NE Iowa. I work for AgVantage FS which is our local supplier of NH3, Fertilizer, and chemicals. We only grow corn and beans on a 50/50 rotation and use conventional tillage for all of our land and all corn is Liberty and all beans are Roundup Ready. Its very tough to expand in our area unless you have lots of $$$ because the average land price is $4000- $5000/ac. with rent at $300 - $650/ac. no matter what the soil condition is and low CSR. Welp thats jus a lil about me and where im from.

I was just curious if you guys have ever considered no-till or low-till. Is conventional tillage pretty much the norm in your part of the country?

Hey Kyle i know the feeling about being hard to find ground to rent. I'm from east central ground we got two operators around here that dont care what it takes to rent land.
