"There are quite a few dairies a little north of where I live, but many people around us are selling their cows. It's real sad that the decent farm land is going to building more houses and businesses, but it has slowed down a lot."

Hello~ I'm from a dairy farm in northern IL, Briar Holsteins. I was born and raised on a dairy farm. We milk just under 100 right now. I love showing dairy cattle and working on the family farm. I own 12 Red & White Holsteins. Really enjoy playing softball, I am a catcher and play on a travel team, Triple Play USA out of Rockford. I enjoy going to as many of the FFA activities as I possibly can! I am our chapter president. I also like riding horses.

After graduation going to SW Wisconsin Tech majoring in Dairy Herd Management. Looking to becoming a dairy herd manager.

When I moved to Illinios I joined the Illinois Holstein Assc, It took a year to get every thing rolling. When I moved back to Kentucky last fall the first thing I done was change back to Kentucky Holstein Cattle Club. Maybe next year I can catch up with Kentucky.

Kelsey, We used a lot of that Platte-Red, got it cheap. No babies yet, it will be this fall. Dodgeing the rain trying to cut hay and finish planting corn. We are calving in some bull bred heifers for the farm and I have second calf Rubens bred to Plus and then a Morty out of a Convincer thats card carrying nuts.

Kelsey, We had a Jet Red heifer this morning. At lunch, got home, told Kim we had a heifer and she informed me she had a red heifer.

The one in the picture is out of a Rubens by a Formation herd bull. She was due on the third so we are probaly going to have another Jet bull. The red cows belong to my wife. We bought them from a friend that decided not to milk any more. Ended up with 2 red carriers and 2 reds and when we put the papers togeather they are all in the same family.
Got rained out of the hay field tonight, could talk about cows forever.
One of these days I will figure out how to do pictures and I can show you.
