Alpacas should have access to young, tender pasture grass or good quality hay at all times. Alpaca Nutrition expert, Norm Evans, DVM rec… Continue

Farming Is Like A Disney Movie

Farming is a metaphor for life. Everything that happens on a farm – birth, growth, harvest, successes, failures, and eventually death – happens in real life as well.

In most jobs, we expect to have things go well. And when they don’t – we have a bad day. We’re disappointed and hope the next day goes better. The same thing happens on a farm, but in more of a Man vs. Nat… Continue

Hi Katy! It was great to hear from you. Yes, we are in GA, so we are "neighbors". I would love to come by one day and meet your alpacas. I am also a weaver and knitter, so the fiber artist in me is always interested in meeting the fibers, firsthand. ;- )

Hi: Kathy, we are a working grade A goat dairy, producing artisan cheeses. www.mvcheesery.com. My husband loves alpacas. I see you are in Fairhope, My Aunt Lucille lives on Fig Street in Fairhope. How cool. Beautiful town and great area. The Alpacas are beautiful animals. You guys have to man handle them like we do our goats. Those are alot bigger however. Looks like great exercise. LOL

HI: Katy, love the alpaca pictures, were're getting ready for a hopefully good kidding season this year, should start anytime. The sad part is we're probly going to have to sell off most of the stock because we can't feed them due to my job getting cut back and my farthers losing his.
