Whenever we get a new Successful Farming magazine in the mail, I check in the FFtheF section to see what's off the Network.
My husband, Terry always asks me when I check it what I've been whining about lately... LOL This issue was no different. I checked the quotes and I wasn't quoted. "Nothing." As of this season, we have chopped corn for 4 years. We have chopped in the rain, the snow, the mud and now the dust - and that's ONLY 4 years! Very hard to believe all of the variety in weather!

What a busy weekend!
Friday - I went back to working outside the farm. Took the PT position at a previous employer where I work at a computer and output plates for printing newspapers. Happy as a lark. Job I love, good pay. Happy, happy, happy.

I am sincerely hoping that fate puts a hold on a monsoon and month long flu for me during this calving season. Last year nearly killed me, I don't want to test the theory that it only made me stronger.

It will be scary for next year though.. Have you looked into sources of the scours.. Maybe from where you wintered cows, water, calving pasture? Maybe there is some type of drug for a preventative for your type of scours.. It is hard not to let these things bother you, my wife just about cries everytime we loose a calf. Well hopefully things improve
