Continued. In desperation I finally held my breath and started working Rob on some recentlfy weaned calves. He was perfect. He is always quiet with the cattle. We have a managed grazing system with about 25 Mother cows, plan to increase the herd. I use him almost daily to either move cattle from paddock to paddock, or during calving season. I normally do not work the cattle except for real work, I don't won't to work flesh off them. I was using Rob to move that particular group of calves so I could take some pictures of him working. He respects the cattle, he does not bit or otherwise hurt them, the

Justin,

This is in response to your questions about my dog working cattle. Rob is now 8, he was 6 at the time I took the picture. I purchased his full sister the year before I purchased him. She was a natural working sheep doing real farm chores at the age of 10 months. At the age of 2 I was in despair with Rob. He would stick to the ground, dive through the sheep biting and tearing then run to the gate and lie down rather then take a correction. I prefer to get a handle on my young dogs working sheep before I start them on cattle. Sheep are easier to replace then calves if the dog causes harm.
