"Im an ih guy so i'd have to say 1206-1256 were some of the toughest tractors catergorized in the "muscle tractor" era. But for a dowright tough workhorse i dont think anyone would argue an 806-856 was probably one of the most hard…"

"This is a hard question !! I have pulled with a IH 666, JD 4020, and hopefully my friends JD 6030. The IH 666 is a great all around tractor of a farm doing small jobs. It pulls good too and you can do some mod's to it and get some real power…"

"I would go a little older and say a good running JD G or R. There is nothing like hooking a plow to one of these and letting the old 2 cylinder pop. But I would have to agree with the 7520. Or a 5020 put a straight pipe on it and take it out and…"

"You can't beat a 7520, Not too hard to work on, plenty of power, enough rubber on the ground for good traction without needing fluid in the tires and once you get used to the articulating steering it is a blast to do field work with. It's…"

I've worked on quite a few different farms over the years, including an internship on a beef operation and a dairy farm in Australia. I love animals, crops, and equipment. I love being out in the open, under the open sky. I am generally able-bodied, I don't mind long hours, and I am a problem solver. I have an IQ of 130, and have an active… Continue

Hi James,

Welcome to the group! How did you end up all the way down in Australia? I have some friends that run/own some pretty big operations down there. If you are looking for ag work check out, http://agjobnetwork.ning.com. They seem like a help bunch.

Actually you are looking at the fall foliage up in Maine where I grew up, but we live in South Carolina now. I am looking for a career in agriculture and haven't been very successful so far.

Hello, James. Welcome to our network here. Glad to have you on board!

That looks like some pretty country in the background of your profile pic. Is that right around your area? What type of farm do you operate there?

Hey, thanks again for joining up with us. Let me know if you ever have any questions or anything.
