About Me:

I was born and raised on a farm in Grinnell, IA, and my Grandfather farmed in Southeastern Iowa also. Ive always loved the farm life and everything that went along with it! Theres nothing better then sitting out in the pasture in the evening watching the cattle. Its just relaxing as heck!!

We farm around 1500 acres of Corn, Soybeans, and have around another 400 of alfafa. We also pasture 250 head of Angus and run about 150 fats. Im was never really into the livestock end of the operation but lately its really peaked an intrest.

It's much easier compared to last year. We are still spraying some beans but are not too pressed for time. I am about halfway through my Physics class. I missed a test last week due to being in Reno, Nevada, for an Ag engineering conference and competition. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things this week before the holidays. Your classes definitely sounds more interesting than mine. I hope everything works out for you.

Well It's been awhile since I've been on this website, so now I'm playing catch up. School is almost over...one year under my belt... and field work has begun. We were cultivating and disking about 2 weeks ago and some people up north by us were even planting by then. Here down in Ames they are a little bit behind but are trying to keep ahead of the rain. Which classes are you taking? When are you coming back? hope you don't mind the questions

Hi Cory,

Welcome to the group! Thanks for your efforts in Iraq. I hope you get what you are working for.

Sounds like a nice diversified operation that you and your uncle farm.
