"On our farm in Owensboro, KY just south of the Ohio river, my main interest is the dairy and we will have lots of silage. If I had my way we would chop it all, that won't happen. Probally looking a 200 bu corn at the dairy, south the guys…"

"Kyle, We just milk 2x but the way we are set up it takes a while with 3 groups. We have an am milker and then a pm milker and I fill in all the gaps. Milking 150 and farming 1100@ so we stay busy."

In essence we fence line wean. The lot I keep the calves in is just across the fence from the stalks my cows are on for the winter. I have never seen the bawl come out of the calves as quick as it did this year. I have been lucky so far with no sick calves and they are staying on feed (knock on wood).

I don't think we've ever met- but I bet we'd act like we've known each other forever if we did! Milk right now runs between $12 and $13 per CWT. Disgusting, ain't it?

(Finding it funny that your bride and I wear the exact same crocs to the barn!)

I'm working in Livingston, TN during the week, but I am back in Lewisburg, KY every weekend. at Daddy's farm closest to Russellville, we got about 10.5 inches, but down towards Lewisburg, I got only about 6 inches. our other farms were somewhere in between those figures.
