WORKSHOP REPAIR MANUALS DON'T COME MUCH BIGGER THAN THIS ONE

My latest workshop repair manual aquired is for the Case 4490 and 4690 tractors and is close on 2000 pages and weighs in at just over 5 kilo including the folder. It's the biggest of all my manuals. Do you have a manual with more pages in it? Dont forget, all members of Farmers Future have access to all my 1500 manual library, if you're in a fix I can email you a couple of pages from any of them, just ask, it's free and might just get you out of a spot. Don't throw that old manual away, I'm…See More

Ploughing competition

Last week I went to watch a ploughing competition where farmers compete for the straightest and smoothest borrow over a 300 yard length. A bit like watching grass grow but some of the old tractors they were using were a sight for sore eyes. Dating back to 1930's / 40's. I took photographs which I was hoping to upload but deleted instead (I'm at that age). I'll be going again, it's a regular thing here in the UK and this time when I'm uploading I'll be carefull to watch which button I'm pressing.

I'm a collector of old operator's manuals, workshop service information and user instruction books and I'm always amazed to hear from folk still running their old equipment after over 40 years of service. It's prompted me to ask the question "How long do they last?" So let's hear from those still running old Combines, Balers or Tractors and see who is using the oldest impliment. Only those that are being used in normal productive operation. So what do you have and how old is it?
