"The older retiring farmer may well have the tools for survival but will they be adequate for a someone with a young family to support and few assets? Selling farm commodities for processing (milk, corn, meat) can be a thankless task as you customers…"

My name is Brett and i live in central PA. I work at a soybean procesing plant full time and work at a custom dairy heifer raising farm part time. In the summer i help my buddy bale small squares of hay. I am trying to find ground to rent so i can start my own operation but is difficult to try and compete for it with other guys. But i'll keep trying! If u want to know more just email me and ask.

ground here is going any where from 25-275 for tillable ground. and almost impossible to find. A local green house operation is paying up to $400 an acre for one year rents to grow pumpkins but the land owner is responsible for doing the tillageusally 3 passes.
