Fertilizer application?

I'm interested to hear how everyone fertilizes in a no till operation.

I'm am not a fan of spraying fertilizer on the ground or spraying over the top of a crop.

I have been looking at buying some yetter fertilizer injection coulters and putting them on a 30' tool bar. I'll have 15 inch spacings for wheat and spread them out for cotton and Milo. That's going to run me about $8500!!! Ouch

I also have been thinking of either keeton seed firmers with fertilizer option or adding injectors to the coulters on my greatplains drill.

Anyone have any experience with these methods or better ideas?

We use the keeton seed firmers with the fertilizer option, we really have no problems with them they wear out about every other year but its not a big deal, I'm happy with them

I no till corn into soybean stubble.   I found 28% on the planter 10-15 gallons per acre is critical for a good start.  I come back and inject another 40 gallons/acre 28% when corn about 4 inches tall.   It can get tricky as a couple of rains and u can be up against a wall fpr getting the last of the N on before the corn is too tall

Coulters for dry or wet fertilizer works great on the planter.  We've had success with both on our planter and no-till drill.  The Keeton seed firmers make a huge difference in seed placement.  However, you should look at putting the coulters on the lead rock shaft.  They tend to be the least in the way there, also there is the least amount of hoses running from fertilizer tubs as well.
