We got word at Successful Farming the other day that our Editor-in-Chief Loren Kruse, who's been here at SF for going on 36 years, is retiring later this year. It was quite a shock to hear the news. Loren's a huge role model for me, and I know he is for many others.
It got me thinking...there's going to be some major change coming with Loren's transition. I'm not sure how things will change exactly, but know that they will. A reporter asked Loren last week what has changed more -- agriculture or the media industry -- since he's been here. It was a really tough question. Agriculture's always changing, but so is the media.
So, I got to thinking about "images" of change. Photos and images that best represent what change means to me. It's quite a mixed bag, I guess. But, sure is interesting to think about.
So, I'd like to hear from you! What is your "image of change?" Do you have a photo that you feel best fits the idea of change to you? I'd love it if you could post your photos and explanations here. I'd like to ultimately build a slideshow on Agriculture.com to share with everyone, but most importantly, share with Loren. I think he'd dig that!
If you'd rather email me, you can email me at jeff.caldwell@meredith.com.
Thanks!
Jeff
