We're headed for another bullish USDA Report next week. Soybeans are already in a rally mode. Will a tight stocks report fire up a corn market rally next week? How's your marketing plan looking, as you head into the field in a few days?

Thanks for sharing,

Mike

I do not see corn getting over 5.75 unless we have a weather scare. Now that most of the I states have some rain and we are certain there will be a crop my marketing plan is simple...If i see 5.75 I am dumping. I am not worried about soybeans until actual planted acres report comes out. I believe that $13.70 beans will turn some of the guys thinking about corn on corn to turn to the profit of the soybeans.

The possible problems I see with my plan is if Corn acres drop to 94 million and soybeans jump to 75 million then my plan will have to be revised. But I can not complain about $5.75 when it could possibly hit $4.25

I was waiting on 6 dollar corn but pretty sure that won't happen. I think there will be some corn acres switched to beans but not sure if it will be enough to get corn to 6. If it gets in the 5.50 range and I get it in the ground, I will probably contract some. Doing some quick math at work the other day, I think I will have about 305 an acre in planting corn so even 5 dollar corn will give me a good margin.

Im speaking before the basis. So I'm looking for 5.25 and 13. How do you figure 305 an acre?
