Read an article in farmnews.com from David Kruse called Ruining Hog Business that hit the nail right on the head about HSUS's agenda's and reality.  If I could add anything or reiterate a point, the price is what reality will become if we are to abandon gestating stalls for the simple fact-sows that arent happy and healthy don't produce and when they don't produce there will be less hogs on the market.  With unhappy-unhealthy sows the producer becomes unhappy and quits producing, snow balling the problem making HSUS happy.

I agree and they say sows in gestation stalls live longer than the ones that don't.  It's scary to think that there are a lot of people against us and that are making decisions for us that don't know anything about the situation. I wish we could just make everyone see the truth and how we raise livestock because we love it, not because we love to torture animals like they make us sound like we are doing

I happen to agree on gestation stalls being better for sows, under most cases. I worked with both loose sow and stalls and will say the loose pens require alot more mgt..Sows in pens also are easier to be banged up or bullied and become downers
