Is anyone using JD's Surface Water Pro on GreenStar?  How do you like it and what's the activation fee?  Thanks.

Anyone? How about installing drain tile with it. Kind of like Soilmax's Intellislope.

It isn't anything like the Intellislope. It is meant as a surface water drainage program for a scraper. John Deere very easily could make it do subsurface drainage but they do not recommend their tractors be used on tile plows so therefore they don't see a need to make it work for tiling.

Yet, I have 40% or better of my customers on JDs pulling plows. What's their purpose behind not wanting JD to pull a plow?

It is JD's stance on tile plows I took that direct from different articles on the diferent drainage control systems. We sell a ton of plows to farmers with JD's and it doesn't hurt anything. John Deere will tell you it voids the warranty if you bust your tractor up pulling a tile plow though.

Do you have customers using Surface water Pro for tiling or are you just saying you have customers pulling plows?

I just have customers pulling plows with JDs. What do you sell, Ray?

My dad and I sell Golddigger tile plows and The Intellislope plow control system.

We should talk soon.

Yeah we definitely should. I see you work for a tile maker how was your supply last year. We had a hell of a time getting tile last year.

Is this all you have? I haven't heard anything at all about it. How does it compare to the Intellislope and/or radar? I will ask some customers and see what I find out for you too.

Just got a RTK Surface Water Pro System wanna try it out this year, See if we like it better then AGPS Pipe Pro... Can't answer anything yet since I haven't used it.... I'd also like feed back on SWP $38,000 System with Base and all activations... We also have a RTK Beeline set up and a Rover and AGPS System... I really dislike that system.
I cant comment on Intellislope since I haven't used it. But have heard its simple to operate and also has a Slope sensor that works along with GPS Signal and if signal was lost you can continue plowing with the slope sensor controling it? Correct me if I Heard Wrong ....

Ray- I know theres pro's and con's about all sytems, Your right SWP was designed for Scrapers, however that reciever dont know if its "TOOL" is subsurface or not... so what parameters would JD have to change to make it operate a plow with a Scraper Special Tractor?  JW

From people that have tried using SWP for tiling i have heard that it doesn't hold grade very well at all it tends to wander. The SWP was designed for pulling a blade or scraper that only has an up and down function. When you get to a tile plow that is a planing plow which uses the pitch of the boot to make the grade change the SWP isn't "smart" enough to account for that. That is what causes it to wander.

To be perfectly honest as a dealer for Intellislope you are wasting money buying the SWP. If you really want to get out of that AGPS system the Intellislope we are selling the Intellislope for $8700 and we can use your beeline as the RTK system if you want. Otherwise I would just keep using your AGPS that system at least is designed from the ground up with tiling in mind.
