Bear with me i am planting corn right now .How do you take the wiggle out? running 9130 4 wheel dri8ve with an in between and a kinze 12 row .fairly strait but bet the planter i can plant smoother. need help thanks in advance.
SELL IT!!!! haha We ran 3 EZ Steer 500s for 1 1/2 years and had even more issues, had our dealer's mechanics, and even the Trimble techs come out and look and never found anything wrong with them. We had even more issues such as being off by 30 feet at the end of the field when it was a mile long, to even having them randomly take sharp turns in the middle of fields. We tried everything we could think of, everything the technicians could think of and nothing ever improved. Good Luck to you if you keep at it but I have nothing but bad news about them for you!
Well it might be the articulation of the 4wd, I know when we used to use our 4wd it was hard to keep it straight I don’t know that there is any way around that. Around here we are pretty hilly and people run the Trimble EZ steers with no problems, but we have an excellent dealership with a great GPS guy.
Troy, have you moved it to your combines too? We had ours in our MXM 190, the 2 steigers, and then we had titan put them in the combines and they were shit for us in every machine. We sold 1 and nobody else will buy the other 2 so we have them but wont' use them. They have caused more stress and more expenses then driving with your hand.
We do have the 500 monitors however I could never sell it to you personally. The hell that they have created I could never put that onto you and still sleep at night. The one we did sell was sold through the dealer so it is on them to try and fix the problems. Also we have the monitors but I think they got used when we switched to the hydrolic autosteer now so the monitors might be used.
Yup I have put them in alot of things. We had it our 9330 and then it went the stx 275. We had it in the Rogator and now our Case IH sprayer came with one in it. They have been in both combines and both of the magnums and we have just the monitor in the floater. I would like to find another ez steer system for the floater.
Thanks to all for the info. lots of problems 4 sure. Got all the corn planted i guess we will see how good it was working when it comes up. Go most of the weaving out with changing the aggressiveness . Got to be carefull with this i figured out especially when u slow down . Well i know more than i did about it 4 sure but no expert at all. There are alot of ricks o thjem i think will come with time. I know he easiest way to plant the fields or i thought i did more point rows han normal i think. Dont want to put myself out of a job!!!
can i ask what kind of correction signal your working with? we upgraded to omnistar HP with our EZ steer and it works very very well, except around 4 or 5 when HDOP and PDOP are amplified. thats my coffee break. and brian, did you change the terrain compensater or the control box out, we had to do it to ours to get the better compensation and that made ALOT of difference.
We had the same problems around 4-5 to the point that we just shut them off during that time. We also had changed the terrain compensators, had entire units changed out and nothing ever improved. It might have just been my area since everybody that has them had the same troubles. We switched to OmniStar too, that helped some but they still costed us more then they saved. Now we have them installed through the hydrolics and have had no issues other then operator errors. At least there are some people out there that had luck with them. For me I would never advise somebody to get one.
