hello.

we just decided to clean out the sheds and decided to get the gleaner n-5 out of the shed and to a new home. it has not been used or ran for 2 years. we put the batteries back in and she fired right up.....so before i try anything else with it....is there anything i need to be concerned about or check?

Not any experience with Gleaners but was this an air-cooled engine?  I know some were.  If not, would think the water pump could be an issue and probably some bearings.  But 2 yrs sitting is not all that long, course you live in a much more humid climate than I.  If your selling it I wouldn't worry as long as it started and the separation system runs.  I guess my main worry would be mice chewing on electrical components and such.
I would change the oil before anything.  My dad bought a semi that had been setting for about 3 years.  He checked the oil on it and started using it.  The motor went down, the mechanic said the oil acidized out.  Take it for what it's worth.  Oil is cheap compared to an engine.
change the oil  check all the fluids
