Farmers || Future

I want to buy a large tract of land at auction and split it in halff with a neighbor.  does anbody know how to do this when purchasing at auction?

you or he buy the whole thing and then sell half to the other.

I just came from a land auction in rock island il. 77.4 ac 53 tilliable $5620/ac I went to $5610 couldnt get it.

You and the neighbor may want to draw up a legal agreement first.  In the 1980's here near home, a local farmer told a couple of neighbors not to bid and he'd split a big farm that was selling with them......  My Grandfather refused and bid against him - but 4 others in the area agreed to the "deal".  Long story short - the other farmer outbid my grandfather, then pronmptly told the other 4 farmers - "we didn't have any agreement".  Just a little history lesson for thought......
