We just saw another record spring in the tiling industry. Even with resin prices increasing almost weekly, it is not putting a dent into the installation of drain tile.

Do you have any stories, ideas, experiences about tile?

Tile is like anything else we do. You about have to lock in prices as they fluctuate like input prices do. I had some done last August but bought the tiLe in January due to a 3 cent per foot increase that was coming. Tile is by far my best investment in farming hands down.

That is great to hear! What we offer as a company is a pre-paid program in the summer which locks in tile prices in the fall at a reduced rate AND guaranteed delivery within 24 hours. As far as the price increases go, it is unavoidable. Resin prices continuously increase as our country continues to ship raw materials overseas (mainly China). I know a lot of farmers, contractors, etc get antsy about the prices, but it is still, and will likely always be, one of the most sound investments you can make to improve your ground.

What are you running for mains and laterals?

I have seen the driest of grounds and the wettest improve by adding tile. Yield monitors don't lie.
