I farm about 500 acres myself. I do custom seeding on about 2500 acres. I do custom hay work on about 2000 acres. I am trying to get my feet in the door selling fertilizer, and application. I also work a full time job needless to say I don't have much vacation time. I really look forward to a rainy spell so I can spend time with my girls.
Own 240 acres and am custom farming another 250 acres.
We have storage of up to a million bushels, or more....if we want to bag that much! haha. We have a Renn Grain bagger and do alot of bagging and tell the CO-OP to stick their basis you know where. We bagged around 100K bushels last year and will be in that neighborhood this year, have some bin space and put about 80K in there of a little higher moisture so we can start harvest a little earlier.
We run about 5200 total mostly sugarcane and about 1200 soybeans. Plenty enough work for you and me!! Hahao
I have around 380 acres of farm ground, my dad has around 450 acres. We do around 500 acres custom harvesting every year along with several hundred acres of custom drilling. We also run around 150 head of cattle.
we run 300 head of replacement heifers own 660 acres and rent about a 1000 acres 300 acres of corn 50 of rye 120 of pasture and the balance is hay ground. also have some rental and investment house's keeps my father 60 and myself 25 out of trouble .
we run 4,000 acres and just picked up another 150 this fall. All is row crop corn/soybean rotation with some corn on corn
We run 1500 acers of owned and rented ground corn/soybeans 200 head cow/calve operation and we finish out the calves to about 1300 lbs
We are building a grain leg in the coming year, 1000 bu pit. should be able to store 1,000 bu. on 10 bins. We fill that ourselves, Rent a few bins from neighbors. Elevators are too slow, but they get what they can take. And haul the winter wheat during harvest to make the space. Off 6000 acres that we farm. Own most, lease, and bout 1000 custom farmed. Dont have much time for custom work as we are kept busy enough. End up spraying around an extra 1000 for some neighbors.
I farm 1200 acres. This year I will have 700 of wheat and 500 cotton. I also own a custom harvesting operation. This past season was our first. We ran 2 machines, started in Texas and made it to Sublette Kansas cutting wheat, turned around and went to South Texas to cut corn. Next year we'll be going further north with wheat harvest if anyone needs help or knows of anyone.
